Ana’s bird is certainly not the only bird in Overwatch. For instance, Bastion’s feathered friend Ganymede is a major part of his lore, and it never leaves the robot’s side. Whether it is appearing in emotes or highlight intros, Ganymede is constantly making its presence known, and Blizzard even gives the bird makeovers with each of Bastion’s legendary outfits. Unfortunately, while Ganymede is working perfectly fine in Overwatch 2, Ana’s pet parrot is no longer present when gamers equip the Corsair skin.

Reddit user Spagernus was quick to point out the Corsair skin’s missing bird. Added back in the 2017 Halloween Terror event, the outfit makes Ana look like a pirate, and there are plenty of details to appreciate on her gun and her attire. However, though Ana’s special eyepatch, bandana, and hairstyle are all fun, what makes the cosmetic so special is the green parrot that used to rest on her shoulder. For whatever reason, this parrot is no longer present on the updated version.
While this is understandably disappointing for fans of the skin, Spagernus did lighten the mood with a funny variant of the “where banana” meme. Still, if this is a bug, it is the latest of many for Overwatch 2. Though there are more pressing concerns, like Overwatch 2’s error codes, server problems, and crashes, this could be another thing to throw on the pile. Ideally, a fix will come soon, assuming that the parrot’s removal was not an intentional change on Blizzard’s end.
Though some commenters were understandably critical about Overwatch 2’s launch problems, others continued the lighthearted nature of the original post in the comments. For instance, TheQueq referenced the lengthy wait for Overwatch 2, joking that Ana had to eat the bird in order to survive the time between games. Others suggested it was being held for ransom as part of the Season 2 battle pass, while another popular theory argued that the poor bird was waiting in the queue. Regardless of what the actual cause is, and even though these players made some fun jokes, the skin is a bit less interesting without the bird.
For now, all gamers can do is bring the parrot’s disappearance to the developers’ attention, reminding Blizzard that the skin needs a fix. Hopefully, it will either get added to the list of known issues soon or Blizzard will clarify why the bird has been taken off Ana’s shoulder.
Overwatch 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
