Like a number of heroes in Overwatch 2, Hanzo’s kit has evolved over the years. While his old Scatter Arrow was replaced with Storm Arrows in 2018, his Ultimate ability, Dragonstrike, has largely remained the same. As the name suggests, this powerful Ultimate lets Hanzo summon a Dragon Spirit that travels in a straight path causing tremendous damage to those unable to get out of its way.

Taking to Reddit, a user known as DjUniique shared an unusual highlight they pulled off while playing as Hanzo in Overwatch 2 on the Nepal map. The clip began with the Hanzo player desperately attempting to reclaim the objective on the Inner Sanctum section. After firing several shots at nearby opponents, they unexpectedly jumped off the point and into the abyss below. While this initially appeared to be an embarrassing blunder made out of panic, the Reddit user soon revealed it was all part of the plan.

As DjUniique lept from the safety of the objective, they quickly turned back to face the opposing team on the point. To the surprise of those on the objective, the Hanzo player used their Dragonstrike just before being killed by the bottomless pit. While the camera watched the body of Hanzo plummet into darkness, the kill feed in the top right corner of the screen revealed that their sacrifice was not in vain. Surprisingly, DjUniique picked up three quick eliminations as the Dragonstrike passed through the enemy team. This was followed by a brief pause before they also managed to destroy the enemy D.Va’s mech.

When posting the clip to Reddit, DjUniique called the play of the game “The most Cinematic, Big Brain Hanzo Ults i will ever hit in my life….” In addition, the Reddit user included a replay of the clip from a different angle, allowing gamers to get an even better idea of what had transpired. Unsurprisingly, this clip captured by DjUniique has made quite an impact on the Overwatch 2 subreddit, with many gamers already upvoting the post.

Interestingly, this is not the only highlight involving Hanzo that has been posted to social media over the past couple of weeks. In addition, one player captured a clip in which Hanzo was eliminated after an enemy Bastion grenade-jumped on top of them. With many players likely to be checking out Season 2 in a couple of days, there are sure to be other highlights featuring the bow-wielding hero from Hanamura in the future.

Overwatch 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
