There are plenty of neat details to appreciate on Junker Queen’s character model, from her heavily stylized blue hair and ripped shirt to her spiked armpad and magnetic gauntlet. However, the detail that has startled some members of the Overwatch community can be seen on her leg. Specifically, gamers will want to take a look at her kneepad, as it looks a bit more detailed than a generic piece of metal armor.

As mentioned by Reddit user Korishii, the Junker Queen looks to be wearing Zenyatta’s face on her knee. Though this could just be a case of pareidolia, like Route 66’s teeth-shaped walls, this could be a deliberate design choice on Blizzard’s end. After all, the details seem almost identical to the Omnic faces fans have seen time and time again, with three dots on the forehead present alongside some slits for eyes. An X is also visible, which could have been scratched into the Omnic’s skull by the Junker Queen.
As mentioned by Reddit user BtrCallSalt, the Junkers hate Omnics in Overwatch 2’s lore. As such, it is not out of the realm of possibility that the Queen or one of her followers killed this Omnic, using its face as armor. This could be an intimidation tactic on her part, as she could be scaring any Omnics she comes across.
It is also worth mentioning that this could just be a case of the Junkers living up to their name. Perhaps Junker Queen found a dead Omnic in the Australian wasteland and repurposed its face as a durable kneepad, though it certainly seems more deliberate when looking at the rest of her design. As pointed out by blasterman3333, her shoulder pad is also an Omnic face. Even more telling is the hand on her waist that was mentioned by TinyPlaidZombie, as it suggests that the original theory is accurate. As a leader, Junker Queen likely embodies the values of her people, and a hatred for Omnics is absolutely one of them.
While fans can be sure that Zenyatta is bot one of the Omnics being used as armor, this detail is very interesting, as it reflects Junker Queen’s beliefs and personality. If Zenyatta and Junker Queen cross paths in Overwatch 2’s PvE campaign, fans could be in for a very intriguing interaction, as it is hard to imagine the two getting along - though it would certainly be interesting to see Zenyatta try to give his wisdom to Junker Queen.
Overwatch 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
