When many gamers think of Overwatch, one of the first heroes that likely comes to mind is Reinhardt. This armored tank is a powerhouse that comes equipped with a shield perfect for providing cover for his teammates. In addition to this defensive shield, he has other moves that let him take the offensive in a fight, such as his Charge ability. As the name suggests, this lets Reinhardt dash forward and pin unsuspecting opponents against walls. Recently, one gamer discovered just how effective this Charge move could be in a skirmish.

Taking to Reddit, a user by the name of chocwaf shared a clip of an impressive albeit humorous clip they recorded during a recent match of Overwatch. The video began as their team had started moving the payload on the Eichenwalde map. After being revived by an allied Mercy, the Reinhardt player reengaged in the fight. However, as they were moving back towards the objective, they suddenly spun around and charged at seemingly nothing. Just as they were about to hit a wall, an enemy Doomfist dropped from the sky right into the line of the charging Reinhardt. This allowed the tank to pick up an easy elimination.

For context, chocwaf shared the same highlight from the perspective of the enemy Doomfist. In the alternate view, Doomfist jumped from the top of a large structure near the payload. He then flew over a wall and into the oncoming Reinhardt, where he met a swift demise. “Enemy Doomfist flanks with a rollout, but I’m already 20 steps ahead of him,” chocwaf commented.

Unsurprisingly, this humorous clip caught the attention of numerous members of the Overwatch community on Reddit. With over 5,700 upvotes in only a day, many were impressed by the play. Among the comments, many noted that the Reinhardt player had good awareness of the surrounding action. This led chocwaf to respond by saying, “A good set of headphones and turning on dolby atmos in the sound settings goes a long way!”

While this video was exciting for many fans, it is not the only thing to look forward to regarding the franchise. In only a couple of weeks, gamers will be able to check out Overwatch 2 as a beta for the game is scheduled to begin on April 26. With an adjusted team composition of one tank per team instead of two, it will be interesting to see how Reinhardt fairs in the sequel to the classic 2016 game.

Overwatch is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
