Speaking to the PlayStation Blog, Overwatch 2 assistant game director Aaron Keller says that Lucio’s look is now “dynamic” and will change with the songs that he plays. Overwatch 2 players will see Lucio’s hair change color, it can glow in the dark, and the visual effects on his suit will also look different. Keller tells fans to “Pay special attention to gameplay footage of his suit changing between his Speed song and Healing song” and to also look for changes when Lucio uses his Sound Barrier ultimate....

With Twitter teases hinting at both characters, it was always going to be one of them joining the roster, and Ramattra was the one to make the cut. With the character first teased years back in the Storm Rising mission, his debut has also been a long time coming. Still, the addition of Ramattra as the hero shooter’s latest Tank means that Mauga will not be coming to Overwatch 2 until the end of 2023 at the earliest, so fans of the character will have to continue waiting....

The moment was shared by Overwatch veteran and Redditor xxxshawn. After a brutal killstreak to clear off the objective, xxxshawn claimed victory in an Overwatch 2 game as Ashe. However, the wild west anti-hero interrupted her snazzy dance after one step to glitch into a static T-pose, which she maintained until the end of the match....

On Friday, Blizzard revealed Overwatch 2’s PvP gameplay for the first time. An extended video showed multiple different matches, with a variety of maps and characters featured. During the first session of gameplay, Overwatch 2 director Aaron Keller talked about why 2CP didn’t work and what would be replacing it. There are two new modes coming in PvP. The first is Push, featuring a single robot traveling back and forth to push opposing barricades....

The Blizzard Gear website briefly featured Overwatch 2 art, though it has since been removed from the site. The art shows the characters Brigitte, Echo, Genji, Mei, Mercy Reinhardt, and Tracer, all with slightly updated looks. The characters still look like themselves, though color schemes on their outfits have been tweaked here and there. The character that looks the most different is the cyborg ninja Genji, who is wearing clothes in the leaked Overwatch 2 art....

Overwatch 2 is not a traditional sequel, and will be more focused on PVE missions and co-op gameplay. It features a full co-op story arc, as well as Hero Missions that are designed to be highly repayable. Overwatch 2 will still have a PVP component in which two teams of five will compete against each other. Blizzard had previously announced that new class restrictions will be present in PVP, as each team will have to be composed of one tank, two DPS, and two support characters....

The Overwatch Anniversary Remix Volume 2 Event returns on May 17th with new paint jobs on six previously released skins while also making the remixed skins from the Vol. 1 Overwatch event available again. The new skins will include Black Wolf Hanzo (Okami Legendary skin), Hydra Symmetra (Dragon Symmetra Legendary skin), Neon Cat Sombra (Black Cat Legendary skin), Night Owl Ana (Snow Owl Legendary skin), Poison Dart Lucio (Ribbit Lucio Legendary skin) and Noxious Roadhog (Toxic Roadhog Legendary skin)....

Today, Overwatch is celebrating its summer season by once again bringing fans another installment of Anniversary Remix. While typically the Summer Games event would bring new skins to the game, Anniversary Remix Vol. 3 promises the return of previous seasons’ styles with a fresh coat of paint while developers are hard at work creating new outfits for Overwatch 2. While Mercy’s new “Karen” skin has proven to be a bit controversial with the game’s fans, her Dragoon skin was a hit with players as soon as it released. Debuting back during the 2020 Anniversary event, the skin sees the healer wearing some bulky armor and an impressive dragon helmet. Her staff also received a scaly re-design, helping the green skin stand out even more from Mercy’s other skins. While this would be one of the tougher outfits to remake in real life, Avera took on the challenge....

After the reveal of Ana, fans are now hard at work piecing together new clues they hope lead to another character being added to Overwatch. There is undoubtedly a hero (or some other character in the Overwatch universe) named Sombra. Reaper has a voice line that mentions the name and the name can also be found on a file in the Dorado map. Held within the “Origins” trailer for the new Ana hero, are two screens of code not discernible by the human eye at normal viewing speed....

To kick off the Overwatch League, Blizzard will be hosting a pre-season event a month after BlizzCon. On December 6 a series of exhibition Overwatch matches will be held, allowing all of the new Overwatch League players and teams to show off their strengths. The official season starts January 10, 2018, lasting through June. That’s a whole six months of Overwatch League play, followed by the league’s playoffs and finals in July....

In a game where a talking gorilla from the moon and a religious, meditating robot are playable characters, a jetpack cat really doesn’t seem that out of place. However, the jetpack cat was ultimately scrapped from Overwatch before the game’s launch, as apparently its concept was just a little too “out there” for the development team’s liking. Besides the scrapped jetpack cat hero, the team revealed art for a few other cancelled heroes....

Originally mentioned a few months ago as Hook 2.0, Blizzard is finally looking into fixing a number of inconsistencies with Roadhog’s hook ability. According to Geoff Goodman who serves as the principal designer on Overwatch, the team is changing how the hook functions, making it less unfair. The hook victim now moves into the position directly in front of Roadhog when captured, rather than getting pulled in a straight line....

The above tweet at first appears to be a simple announcement for the event’s start date of August 9. However, closer inspection reveals something interesting: a new map. Lucioball has only had two maps for a while. One is “Sydney Harbour Arena” in Australia, and the other is “Estadio das Ras” set in Rio de Janeiro. The image above does indeed depict Sydney, but the other half is certainly not Rio de Janeiro....
