It has been a long couple of months since Overwatch 2 first became available to players at the beginning of October, with new issues, bugs, and patches seeming to crop up every other week. While the game generally feels more stable now, it’s safe to say that the title certainly had more than a few issues at launch, with many players being affected by crashes and bugs that could affect anything from the power of some Ultimate abilities to the placements of players in Competitive matches....

Fans are comforted with the new Push map that allows players to talk to the robot escort even though some of the other well-received locations have gone missing. As seems to be the rule with sweeping changes, some gamers love the changes and others hate them. Yet certain inquisitive individuals have taken to exploring maps and asking themselves what all has changed about the classic maps that made their way into the game....

For example, while this is not an entirely game-changing decision, Overwatch 2 has seen alterations to the endorsement system, leaving some players less than thrilled. Of course there are players who don’t use the endorsement system at all, but for others, it’s a game element that they use to judge how well they’re doing in their matches, either mechanically or communication-wise with their teammates. This has, in a way, proven to be both true and untrue. Overwatch 2 is a full-blown sequel and won’t be something that will simply update Overwatch 1, but it will be accessible by original players. Essentially, Overwatch 1 and Overwatch 2 players will both be able to partake of the new maps, heroes, and more, which also means that original Overwatch players will be able to retain everything they’ve currently unlocked....

Like many Overwatch updates, the game’s next update will include a variety of character balance tweaks. Most notably, the tank class character Roadhog is getting a buff after having his damage greatly nerfed last month. As part of his buff, Roadhog will now be able to walk and heal himself at the same time, and he will take 50% less damage when healing. Even though his damage isn’t being increased, this buff should still go a long way in improving Roadhog’s pick rate and making him a more viable option in the game....

According to Kaplan, Blizzard’s main focus right now is launching the ranked Competitive Mode in Overwatch. The company has implemented changes to Competitive Mode based on beta feedback, and are planning to launch it for Overwatch by the end of the month. Even so, Kaplan stressed in his forum post that even with feedback from the beta at Blizzard’s disposal, it may take multiple iterations of Competitive Mode to get it right....

This feature was announced in a new video posted on the official Overwatch YouTube channel, where Jeff Kaplan, Blizzard’s vice president and lead director on Overwatch, explained why Blizzard is finally introducing role queuing. For those who don’t know, role queuing allows players to pick a specific role - tank, damage or support - and then play matches specifically for that role. Role queuing is live in the public test realm and will be available to everyone beginning September 1....

The Overwatch character is question is Jesse McCree, whose namesake was a lead developer for World of Warcraft who is currently working as the lead game designer for the upcoming Diablo 4. Photos and screenshots show McCree was one of the Activision Blizzard employees involved with what they called the “Cosby Suite,” former senior creative director Alex Afrasiabi’s alcohol-filled hotel room at 2013’s BlizzCon. According to the lawsuit, the nickname was apparently given to the room because of Afrasiabi’s notorious harassment towards women, which included repeatedly hitting on them, saying he wanted to marry them, and trying to kiss them....

Before the latest patch, using an Ultimate would cause the meter to drain based on its duration. This was so players who died right after using their Ultimate wouldn’t feel like they completely wasted it. Ever interrupt a Genji Ultimate, just to have him come back with his meter full, ready to hack you to pieces? That’s the old system at work. Wonderful for the Genji, but not so fair to the opposing team that shut his Ultimate down....

Update 1: The official Overwatch Twitter account has released what is quite possibly the first Sigma teaser trailer. Last week, Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan teased Hero 31, revealing that the new character is male, but not confirming much else about what to expect from him. We still haven’t heard anything official on Hero 31, but the Mexican Twitter account for Overwatch World Cup may have leaked the hero’s name and face....

The gauntlet-wielding Overwatch character has quickly become a fan favorite among players for his high mobility and ability to deal out massive amounts of damage, but with the implementation of the latest PTR patch, Doomfist’s painful Rocket Punch has had its hitbox shrunk, effectively nerfing the attack. Whereas the current build of Doomfist’s Rocket Punch is quite forgiving when it comes to making contact with enemies, the new PTR hitbox changes mean players are required to be much more accurate with the character in order to land a hit....

In a new post from the official Overwatch Twitter account, a short 6-second video shows off a non-descript street corner displaying tons of posters and artwork. Of course, it was posted without any context whatsoever, so naturally, the fanbase has been whipped into a frenzy trying to decipher any secrets or potential hidden meanings. Since the last hero’s release in the summer of 2019, there has been no new content featuring additional heroes. Indeed, Sigma was the last hero to be added to the Overwatch roster, though more content was evidently heading Overwatch’s way before the release of the highly-anticipated Overwatch 2. The owner’s dogs are near-on identical, being littermates and so genetic siblings. Luna has lived with them for years, but sibling Loki moved in a little over a month. In order to disguise their second dog from the landlord, and avoid an additional pet fee of $40 a month, they walk the dogs separately.
