Perhaps one of the most annoying bugs––outside of characters being locked for no reason––is the “Error starting a game” bug. This bug has been popping up quite a bit over the past several days, and it can appear for several reasons––none of which is difficult to fix. So, if you’re one of the many suffering from this bug, here’s what you can do to help ensure everything with your game is right so you can get back in and master all of Kiriko’s abilities....

The new map came along with the launch of Overwatch 2 just over a week ago, currently being the only map in the game to be set in Brazil. The Hybrid map tasks the attacking team with claiming a capture point before escorting a payload across the length of the map to the finish point, while the defending team must scramble to stop them. The level features a number of references to Lucio, including a club based around the hero’s music, the character’s own studio and, of course, his kitchen....

One such change came to the Omnic healer known as Zenyatta. As a support character, Zenyatta is best kept to the back of the group where he can be protected and deal out heals and debuffs from a safe distance away. Considering that Zen is extremely vulnerable up close, Blizzard gave him a powerful passive to his melee ability called Snap Kick, essentially letting him kick enemy players away to help him survive a bit longer....

Overwatch 2’s early days have seen new maps, heroes, and metas come and go on a regular basis. This January balance patch will see the beginning of the Battle for Olympus Team Deathmatch mode, where Overwatch players will play as heroes in Greek-themed skins and amped-up abilities to earn those skins, signature voice lines, and glory. With the Battle for Olympus taking center stage and other major hero balance changes addressed in a December update, this balance patch is light on hero adjustments but addresses some serious bugs that have been affecting the Overwatch playing experience....

The details are still largely unconfirmed, but players do know that Overwatch 2 will function as a sort of extended arm of the original Overwatch. It will not only be the sequel to the original, but also function as a replacement to the original altogether; once the new title is released, Overwatch players will be matched with Overwatch 2 players and vice-versa when queuing up, effectively making the games one and the same....

Overwatch 2 was released on October 4, 2022, with the goal of breathing life back into a franchise that once showed so much promise. With a content infusion that included three new heroes, five new maps, a revamped art style, and a host of gameplay tweaks, both big and small, the verdict is still very much out on whether it will be enough to keep Overwatch relevant into the future....

While Blizzard has yet to add a permanent PvE mode to Overwatch 2, which is one of the reasons for its early access status, the team-based hero shooter has already featured several PvE LTMs. As part of the Halloween Terrors event, Overwatch 2 added the new Junkenstein’s Revenge: Wrath of the Bride mode. In addition, the previous Junkenstein’s Revenge modes are also available in the Arcade during the event. While these are PvE-focused and mix up the traditional Overwatch gameplay, some gamers believe that an aspect of the experience should make its way to the PvP portion of the game....

This past week, Tyler1 started up Overwatch 2 only to notice a system message from Blizzard in his text chat. Showing the message to his Twitch chat, it revealed that Tyler1 had a lingering chat ban from the original Overwatch that still had five years left remaining on it. Tyler1 admitted it was earned and deserved, and it stemmed from shortly after launch in 2016. Tyler1 insulted his teammates and Blizzard, knowing his poor reputation from League of Legends, chat banned him instead of fully banning him....

The video below was released early on Overwatch’s Chinese Facebook page and displays some of the new content that the birthday celebration update will bring when it launches next week. The skins that have been revealed are likely to be Legendary in rarity, given how different they are from the characters’ standard appearances. Rarer skins such as these often come with alternative voice lines as well, making them all the more coveted....

Overwatch launched in 2016 as Blizzard’s first truly new IP since StarCraft in 1998 and was the first competitive shooter game the studio had ever made, building on the work of the canceled game Titan and other hero shooters like Team Fortress 2. The game featured a colorful roster of heroes for players to use in 6v6 objective-focused multiplayer matches where hero choice and good team composition was a must to secure victory....

Overwatch players can unlock and use several highlight intros, with the list only growing larger with each seasonal event and new hero addition. Shown before each play of the game, the intros do a great job of setting the stage, as they focus closely on the hero that will be at the center of the action. The intros are varied, though, as each shows off a hero’s skill being used....

To celebrate the release of this brand new comic, Overwatch will be holding a limited-time challenge event that will be starting on September 15th, 2020. This challenge is called Tracer’s Comic Challenge and will allow players to get a brand new skin for Tracer that will be exclusive to this event. Described by Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan as the “central anchor of her team”, Orisa is a heavy-set tank hero that functions both as a frontline attacker and a solid defender. While it is not yet known when the character will be patched into the game, Orisa is currently available to play on the Public Testing Realm (PTR) on the PC and is expected to make her way into the final build of Overwatch in the coming weeks....

Overwatch has had a steady increase in players since its launch and as a result, has become one of the most successful multiplayer team shooters on this generation of consoles. With varied playing styles, characters, and weaponry the game has had plenty of content for players to engage with. With fan speculation mounting about what skins would be available and how the maps would be updated, it will be a relief that they can access this content today....
