It’s no surprise that thousands of artistically-inclined fans have been inspired by them and reimagined them in countless ways, like giving the cast of Overwatch Avengers skins. Content creator Therister shared the mode within a reddit post, attaching a trailer so that players could get a feel for the mode. The premise becomes clear rather quickly, and the mode is surprisingly terrifying. If Blizzard had come up with the idea first, Glitch In The System could easily have featured in an official Overwatch Halloween event. The mode is yet another example of players pushing the envelope in terms of what can be done with Workshop mode, as fans even created a new ultimate for Brigitte recently....

Admittedly, such an event is unlikely. Overwatch has been available for over five years now, and a Marvel crossover has yet to happen, meaning that Blizzard is likely content with doing its own events full of original cosmetics. Still, while a new Overwatch event themed around Marvel comics seems like a pipe dream, it remains fun to think about. Fans of Overwatch 2 have been eagerly anticipating the game’s second season, particularly since Ramattra was revealed last month during the Overwatch League Grand Finals event. Blizzard promised a variety of balance tweaks to several heroes, and sure enough, quite a few characters have received some rather significant changes along with the new season. Doomfist and Junker Queen have received some much-needed buffs, with the developers enhancing the effects of Doomfist’s passive ability while also bumping up the damage done by his initial Rocket Punch....

Esperanca will be one of the maps in Overwatch 2’s all-new Push mode, which has competing teams meet at the center of the map they play on and fight to take control of a robot. This robot then moves a barricade towards the spawn of whichever team did not take hold of it. Until the barricade is pushed to the end of the path, teams can continue to fight over the robot....

That being said, it may be time to start looking toward the future of Overwatch 2 and the franchise as a whole. While new playable heroes have already been added to the release, many of them carry on from the same strands of lore and geographical representation that the franchise has already experienced, and Overwatch 2 should look elsewhere to further establish its own identity.
