Through the PlayOverwatch Twitter account, Blizzard announced that over 25 million players have logged on to play Overwatch 2. Some problems have arisen from this popularity. Namely, Overwatch 2’s queue times were extremely long at launch, with some players showing they were behind 50,000 others waiting to get into the game. The new Shop in Overwatch 2 is among a long list of changes and new features not seen in the game’s predecessor. With the introduction of Overwatch Coins, the game’s new virtual currency attainable from completing challenges and via microtransactions, players are able to directly purchase a range of skins, emotes, highlight intros and more. As any experienced Overwatch 2 player will know, supports are essential for providing the healing to teammates that’s necessary to keep a fight going, and losing your healers can often result in a quick team wipe....

While Widowmaker was always a threat in the original Overwatch due to her capability of one-shotting a number of enemies, the change from 6v6 to 5v5 in Overwatch 2 has made her more dangerous on certain maps. Now, teams can only have one tank on each team, reducing the number of barriers Widowmaker has to worry about getting through in order to land shots on the enemy. However, playing the hero well still takes considerable skill and precision aim, making this recent clip from an Overwatch 2 gamer even more impressive....

In a post on the game’s official forums, Kaplan says that developer Blizzard is going to take “disciplinary action against people who partake in these activities,” meaning that the days of improperly using Overwatch custom game modes to get ahead could soon be over. The game director specifically says that, “if you create a custom game that in any way encourages players to gain experience,” and that joining any game mode (including custom games) “with the intent of gaining experience while being inactive” could result in an account ban....

When it was first presented, Blizzard suggested the mode would be helpful for exploring more changes to Overwatch’s heroes. Besides a change for the 222 format and the occasional hero power, most Experimental updates have been minor tweaks. The new version released on March 22 adds in adjustments for a wide variety of characters, ranging from subtle to game changing.
