As usual, Overwatch 2’s Winter Wonderland event features special limited-time game modes for players to check out, like Mei’s Snowball Offensive and Yeti Hunter. Overwatch 2 players also have the chance to snag some holiday-themed skins, but the downside is the vast majority must be bought this year. Previous years allowed Overwatch 2 players to unlock seasonal skins through loot boxes, but now players have to spend real money to get them....

Season 2 launches on December 6, and Blizzard has already started teasing changes and new additions coming with the update. Back at the Overwatch League Grand Finals, the developer revealed that Ramattra would be the next hero added to Overwatch 2. Alongside the hero lockout problems, some of Overwatch 2’s characters have also been associated with certain exploits. The Art of Overwatch Vol. 2 officially released on December 28, with pre-orderers now beginning to receive their copies. Overwatch 2 player and Reddit user u/SeeOurTea noticed some glaring differences between the old Cultist Zenyatta skin and the current rendition available within the game now. In the original Overwatch, the Cultist skin featured green Lovecraftian-style runes that would glow around Zenyatta’s signature support orbs while performing the Meditate emote. The green glow effect complements Zenyatta’s black and purple Cthulhu-like appearance, but the skin has been altered in Overwatch 2....

So far, reaction from fans to the Battle for Olympus event in Overwatch 2 seems to be decidedly mixed. While there are those who seem to enjoy the new look and feel of the heroes, especially those with remixed ultimates, there’s a large portion of players who feel the mode is too much of a grind for lackluster rewards including a Mercy skin which has been available for years. Unfortunately, players have been finding numerous issues with the mode, including a strange bug linked to the tank character Reinhardt....

With Overwatch 2 moving to a free to play format with challenges and battle passes, there seems to have been a higher than anticipated strain of people attempting to log in at launch. Chu’s newest Overwatch short story called Valkyrie focuses on the event in Egypt that brought Angela Ziegler, Ana Amari, and Soldier: 76 back together following the downfall of their team. It essentially continues the Bastet story from earlier this year, where Dr. Ziegler was working at an aid camp on the outskirts of Cairo trying to escape her past as the hero Mercy. It sheds more light on some lore elements hinted at in the game, such as what drives Soldier: 76 in his post-Overwatch vengeance and even how the trio came together in the first place....

Many players don’t like Bastion. When the character joins a game, he ends up becoming the center of attention.
