In recent years, content updates for the game have been coming at a slower rate. While players wait for Overwatch 2 to release, Blizzard tests ideas in this mode. Sometimes this even includes crazy hero changes like the April Fools’ Experimental update. While this round is a more grounded, there are still some interesting adjustments for certain characters. RELATED: Dark Horse is Publishing Another Overwatch Art Book Two of the more contentious hero additions, Echo and Sombra, are receiving various tweaks....

In the concepts, the duo is given a more studious look, as Redditor Sparrow_21 takes Overwatch fans back in time by presenting Widowmaker and Ashe how they may have looked in school. Starting with Widowmaker, the Overwatch hero with the saddest backstory, Amelie Lacroix looks far more cheerful than she does in most of her skins. Depicting the sniper before she was experimented on by Talon, her skin is pale as opposed to blue, something that is seen in only a handful of her in-game costumes....

For their part, the official Overwatch Twitter paid a small tribute to Kaplan and announced Aaron Keller as his replacement. The tweet encouraged fans to help them thank Kaplan for “being the Mercy to [their] Genji,” a playful, Overwatch-specific way of expressing their gratitude for Kaplan’s indispensable efforts in creating the game. Of course, the news came as quite a shock to Overwatch fans, and the reply thread to the initial tweet was filled with snap reactions....

It seems the developer has dropped the ball a little when it came to keeping the secret under wraps, as the Taiwanese Overwatch website accidentally showed a promotion for the Halloween event which will run from the 11th of October through the 1st of November. Another leak posted to Korean IGR (Internet Gaming Rooms) announced that a patch of 1.74 GB will be releasing at 3AM KST or 11AM PT....

While Blizzard is fairly vocal about upcoming changes, even going as far as letting fans test out updates early on the PTR server, there are a few things that may get adjusted behind the scenes letting fans discover them for themselves. Some of these are intended to be fun little secrets such as the recently found World of Warcraft related Easter egg involving Bastion’s bird friend Ganymede. However, some changes are more subtle in nature, like a recent modification to the Volskaya Industries map....

The team-based first-person shooter, Overwatch, managed to capture the attention of audiences when it was originally released in 2016 and its characters kept players coming back. Updates have improved on the original game and it still has a large fanbase who is eager for more content from Overwatch. The Overwatch World Cup invites teams of the best players from every country to compete in a tournament for supremacy at Blizzcon. The top 10 teams voted by the community have their airfare and expenses paid for by Blizzard, but every other team needs to pay their own way. Fundraisers created by teams have started popping up online to raise the funds needed to get to Anaheim, California. With fundraisers for Team Singapore, Portugal and South Africa struggling to pull in funding, it looked like Team Hong Kong may have suffered the same fate....

“The building is residential, what is in to hit?” said the owner, who preferred to remain anonymous for his security. The Israeli military later said the building contained intelligence offices of Hamas, an Islamic militant group. The firing of rockets began on Monday, and Israel has since destroyed three high-rise buildings it believed had Hamas offices, after telling civilians to leave the area. TikTok user Rosalynn Stewart—who uses the handle yammananna—posted the video on June 7 since when it has received more than 86,000 views and thousands of comments. In the video, the text overlay explains: “Today we went to the vets thinking that this was it for the old boy. We’d said goodbye. He’d slept on the bed despite smelling like satan’s ballsack, I’d mushed up his dinner and he’d had chicken… we were ready…”...

The clip, shared by TikTok user @saratangg8, shows an array of different items sprawled on the floor in front of the door of a storage closet. A cat hovers over the spread as a person is seen grabbing each of the items, which include “a bracelet, all the hair ties, the toys…” as well as a tiny tube of lotion and some small items used for a dish drying rack that appeared to have teeth marks on them....

The sicknesses occurred after state officials reportedly failed to alert the public of a sewage spill in southern St. Mary’s County, Maryland, near where the oysters were collected. The St. Mary’s County Metropolitan Commission raised an alarm after surging tides reportedly caused 25,000 gallons of sewage waste to leak into a nearby river tributary at the end of October. The commission stated that this leakage was reported to a number of utility companies, as well as the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE)....

Hairston, speaking to The Daily Tar Heel, isn’t even sure how long he’ll be out following three run-ins with police since May. He’s been on indefinite suspension following a second speeding violation in late July. “I haven’t found out yet, but whatever it is I’m ready for it,” Hairston told the school paper. Those that played the original Overwatch will remember that Bastion used to have a different Ultimate, as he previously transformed into a Tank to launch explosives at his opponents. In the sequel, Bastion has been reworked to make him more viable, gaining more movement options and a new Grenade ability. The changes extended to his Ultimate, as Bastion will now turn into a stationary Artillery cannon and fire three rounds onto selected points on the map....

Though it still features the same sleek hero shooter combat that made the first game so popular (albeit repackaged into a 5v5 format), a lot of its players were hoping that it would expand upon the multi-generational plot and colorful characters presented in Overwatch through genuine story content. With the co-op campaign of Overwatch 2 postponed and relegated to an episodic service model, many players held out hope that the base game itself would still treat its heroes, both old and new, with the same reverence as the original Overwatch did....

While Blizzard’s relationship with its partners in China deteriorates, Overwatch 2 continues its traditional Lunar New Year’s event. Paired with the tease of a new Epic skin and more surprises to come in the weeks during the event, Overwatch 2’s first crack at Lunar New Year in the Year of the Rabbit hopes to give fans lucky drops and be the beginning of a year that may see many positive changes come to the game....

To this end, Blizzard decided to split Overwatch 2 into two distinct parts. The first part, which was released last October 2022, focuses on the franchise’s tried-and-true PVP hero shooter experience. The developers may have added new heroes, maps, and modes, but it is still very much the same Overwatch experience players know, albeit now adopting a free-to-play system. The second part is the aforementioned PVE content that will launch sometime this 2023....

Reddit user CreamierCheesier recently shared a photo from a Spirit Halloween retail store in which an Overwatch McCree costume sits between an Incredibles one and another that appears to be the tank hero D.Va. The Overwatch 2 hero previously known as McCree was renamed to Cassidy last year due to some accusations concerning the character’s namesake at Activision Blizzard. The original Overwatch was a big success for Activision Blizzard and since the game released, tons of merchandise revolving around the franchise has been released, including a lineup of costumes that may not have been replaced with Overwatch 2 counterparts....

As seen in the video below, Llorente’s design for the Overwatch map includes a lot of traditional Eastern architecture surrounded by more futuristic towers and skyscrapers. Additionally, the artist peppers the map with a giant obelisk, multiple references to the Egyptian god of the afterlife, Anubis, and plenty more beautifully recreated symbols and iconography from ancient Egyptian culture. What’s more is that the map’s layout appears to have something for everyone, with long sightlines, mid-range dueling spots, cramped alleyways, and semi-enclosed close-quarter combat zones offering the chance for each of the game’s Heroes to shine....
