It seems that Overwatch developer Blizzard has heard those calls for better matchmaking and the company recently released a new update that aims to fix things. Available now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, the patch affects matchmaking in the Competitive Play mode. The patch notes for the update explain that Blizzard has “made improvements to matchmaking that will decrease the range of Skill Rating between players on the same team....

The attacker revealed that he recently attended the Reading festival with some friends to take in sets by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and British Grime artist Stormzy, but had to remain incognito throughout the shows. Based on what Overwatch 2 fans know about Sojiro Shimada, he was an honorable man in a dishonorable line of work. An imperfect figure that showed favoritism to one of his sons, Sojiro could have gone about things better than he did, though he clearly imparted some valuable lessons before he was killed. It is unclear if Blizzard will ever provide more lore for him, but the existing info on Sojiro is intriguing as is....

Kiriko’s interesting lore dives into how she became such a fierce fighter and caring healer, and it helps players understand her personality and connection with other Overwatch 2 characters. Since Kiriko is the newest addition to the roster and has not been playable in any of the Overwatch 2 betas, it is important for players to understand her kit and how she will operate on the battlefield. Fortunately, fans will be able to create a connection with Kiriko through the developer update and origin story, which do a great job of showing off the new hero’s abilities and explaining who she is as a character...

Kiriko is one of the three heroes added to the roster when Overwatch 2 was released, and since then, she has become one of the most played supports in the game. While Kiriko’s Ultimate, Kitsune Rush, is often her star ability, she has a number of other moves to help support her team. Among these, her Swift Step allows her to teleport to nearby allies. At least, that is what it is supposed to do....

While Overwatch 2 fans would agree that the cosmetics in the game are living up to the high standards that Blizzard established with the original Overwatch, the underlying monetization behind its cosmetics system leaves a lot to be desired. A good first step that the developers made was the new Gingerbread Bastion skin being sold for just one Overwatch coin, but players still feel skeptical about the game’s overall direction....

For the record, it is unlikely that any Overwatch 2 heroes will die in the upcoming game’s PvE mode. While there are a few possibilities from a lore standpoint, such as Reinhardt dying since he has trained a successor in Brigitte, the characters play very different in PvP. Blizzard is unlikely to take away the roles these characters play, as many gamers only use heroes like Reinhardt. Further, killing off a character would mean losing all the skins fans have unlocked for them since 2016, making their death and removal from the roster doubtful....

Echo is, obviously, still a character in Overwatch 2 and she’s fully playable. All of her cosmetics and customizations are fully supported and transferred over to the new game. By no means has Echo been erased from Overwatch 2. Rather, Overwatch 2 players have noticed that certain things that other characters have received as part of the upgrade to the new game, Echo has been left out on. Whenever the PvE campaign of Overwatch 2 resurfaces, it would be great to see some deep dives into the aforementioned mechanics. However, while Blizzard should focus on highlighting things like skill trees and the new Omnics players will be fighting, it would be great to see some new features discussed as well. One unconfirmed feature that has serious potential is a hub area, and hopefully Overwatch 2 delivers a memorable place for gamers to rest between missions....

Total Mayhem is a special Arcade game mode carried over from Overwatch to Overwatch 2, available now as part of the sequel’s multiplayer launch. In Total Mayhem, all characters have a 75% cooldown buff (with some exceptions to certain abilities). Heroes also have their health doubled to ensure that players aren’t simply one-shot over and over again. It’s easy to imagine how these changes could make a number of Overwatch characters very strong, but Zarya post-Overwatch 2 balance changes is particularly powerful....
